IMAGINE A GALACTIC FEDERATION

One of the reasons that the United Nations is not performing as well as it should be is its focus on individual nations. We should be focusing not just on currently making peace between existing nations on Earth, but on uniting humanity as one, because when humanity unites, it's truly an amazing species. Space is the future of humanity, and we can't efficiently live and work in space if we have to constantly try to reduce tensions between nations, worry about them threatening to obliterate each other, and wonder if humanity will die out due to wars between nations before we can leave Earth and reach the stars. Not only has the United Nations been underperforming massively, but they are focusing on the wrong thing, in our opinion. They should focus on something bigger than nations. It shouldn't just be about uniting nations so that we have peace between all countries on this planet, it should be about uniting humanity so we can live among the stars, make new life-changing scientific breakthroughs, and much more. Without a unifying purpose, humanity will battle itself. According to NBC News, humans have already made contact with a "galactic federation" founded by aliens, which are waiting for humanity to reach a stage where it understands what space and spaceships are, before revealing themselves to us. "The Unidentified Flying Objects have asked not to publish that they are here, humanity is not ready yet," says Haim Eshed, former head of Israel's Defense Ministry's space directorate. Eshed added that US President Donald Trump was aware of the extraterrestrials' existence and had been "on the verge of revealing" information but was asked not to in order to prevent "mass hysteria." Though everything described in that report would make perfect sense and would be logical, we, the general public, have no direct proof of them existing, and because of that, we must assume that they don't exist, and must build a galactic federation ourselves. Just imagine a time where humanity is united, free of worry, thriving in the depths of space.
